Zahra Publishing was founded in 2003 in Dalkey, Co. Dublin by Gina Miltiadou and John Mullins, who had previously worked in the media and publishing industries in South Africa, the UK and Australia. The company, commercially known as The Zahra Media Group has six divisions: Consumer Publishing, Custom Publishing, Zahra Events & Awards, Recipe Lab, Zahra Digital and the Zahra Helps Foundation.
In the Consumer Publishing Division, we publish Easy Food and Easy Health, both Ireland’s highest circulating magazines in their respective categories. New consumer title Easy Parenting was launched in May 2011.
In the Custom Publishing Division, we create, design and produce bespoke content for nine blue-chip clients – ESB, Bord na Mona, United Drug, Pharmacare, Aviva, The Rehab Group, Arthritis Ireland, Irish Cancer Society and the Environmental Health Officer’s Association. The content is delivered across a number of platforms, ie. magazines, catalogues, e-zines, digital editions, books, branding & marketing materials.
In the Zahra Events & Awards Division, we are the official goodie bag provider for the Ideal Home Shows (April & October 2011) and Xposé Live Shows (May & November 2011). The first Easy Food Home Cook Hero Awards took place on November 28th 2011 with great success and the second is due to take place in November 2012.
For The Recipe Lab, we develop, test and photograph recipes for leading brands, eg. John West, Unilever, Heineken and the Irish Rugby Union Players’ Association. The recipes are used for brand websites, packaging and cookbooks.
Zahra Digital developed an app for Easy Food, available to download through the App Store. The Easy Food app was the number one Lifestyle app over the Christmas 2010 period and won Best App in the Magazines Ireland Awards 2011. Zahra Digital also develops digital editions of magazines for clients.
Zahra Publishing donates 10% of its profits to Zahra Helps Foundation, an Irish charity that does work in Vietnam and South Africa. The Zahra Helps Foundation was set up to support education, health and infrastructural projects in South Africa & Vietnam.
