Welcome

...to the first annual Kids Issue! When I was a child, all I wanted to do was cook in the kitchen with my Mum, and this month we celebrate our culinary beginnings, all the while ensuring that your little ones are well fed and well occupied during the summer holidays! Kicking off proceedings, Aimée Doyle, the latest addition to Team has come up with some great ways to take the challenge out of eating your five a day. Lost for inspiration when it comes to packed lunches? Check out our weekly menu of delicious and nutritious meals that promise to travel well.

We get whimsical about the nursery rhymes that we were obsessed by...and make food inspired by them, and we kick off a step-by-step guide to the most awesome Dinosaur-themed birthday party ever. The best bit? We've included make-your-own invitations and goodie bags! Of course, this issue is not just about little people - overall, it's about celebrating your child within, and considering this, we've created the ultimate in creative eating - a miniature dinner party. Check out our recipes and wine matches.

Looking to everyday cooking, we rummaged through our store cupboards and have come up trumps with easy meals that are ideal for end of summer eating. If the outdoors still beckons for you and the family, pick up our top tips for gardening with the tiny people in your family.

This issue marks another exciting first for us, the launch of the Easy Food Kids Cookbook, on sale in a shop near you from 20th August. Fancy a sneak peek? Turn to page 79 for your exclusive extract. Have a fabulous month, and don't forget to stop by our Facebook group to catch up on the latest gossip from HQ!

Until next month
